VRF Cheers

Picture
1999, Black Mare with hind sock, Pedigree, Registered Half-Welsh

Cheers is the product of two generations of careful breeding by Maryland Judge Dick Strauss.  Dick had bred Cheers's sire, Triple Hill, who's dam (Broadaxe Chablis) also produced his famous broodmare, Blue Nun.  We purchased Cheers as a two year old and sent her for training with Jennifer Thompson in MD.

Cheers had a successful career showing locally before retiring to be a broodmare.  In her riding days, she was always the hack winner, had an automatic lead change, and was fearless over fences.  At a petite 14 hands, she is a perfect cross for medium Section B Welsh stallions and will add height and athleticism to her foals.  She has an outstanding pedigree featuring the best of American and European Welsh bloodlines and although only registered Half Welsh, is actually 7/8ths.

Cheers produced her first foal for us in 2009 by Telynau Royal Charter.  She will be bred back to Charter in 2010.
